As superficial as it sounds, people find attractive people attractive.
There are many ways both sexes can improve their appearance, such as grooming, fashion, being fit...

...But make up use is only socially acceptable women. Thus, I find more fit and well dressed attractive women than fit and well dressed attractive men. This balance is not equal.

Well, maybe some skin toner cream if doing a presentation in public or having to look absolutely flawless, But no more. I knew a guy from work who would put on a suit and be groomed to perfection but one day got close up to him as we were going over something...He was wearing eyeliner which is not flattering on a 48 year old man unless you are on stage and your name is Ozzy Osbourne.

Simplicity works best for men, At least in professional environments. A nice watch and shined shoes with clean trimmed nails and ironed clothing goes a long way.

Do you feel that there is as much pressure on men to be as attractive as possible as there is on women? I'm not a man - but then men I've dated haven't seem to spend much time thinking about how attractive they are. Then again, it could just be the kind of men I've been attracted to.

Why would you want to put sh*t on your face?

Yeah you can put make up on, and then people will find you extremely odd looking.

But, there could be some type of make up for men. I know I haven't looked into it at all.

As a great looking tall man that's in shape...

...I have no trouble with being good looking at all, in fact, there has been occasions where I have felt like a piece of meat...

...But when I look at stunning women with perfectly applied make up, I get the feeling that no man can reach that level of attraction without photoshop.

But I don't think women and men look for the same things in terms of attractiveness.

And I have gay friends that do wear a bit of make up! But they are trying to attract other gay men - not women.

I remember there was this girl back in high school who thought I looked hot in eyeliner, and she would attempt to apply it whenever possible, much to my chagrin.

Men simply arent judged by their appearance as much as women are. Women are.judged first and foremost on attractiveness and then on abilities, with less attractive women being seen as incompetant....especially if theyre overweight.

When men are judged on that level maybe there will be more worries about artificial enhancers like makeup. As it stands, combing your hair and wearing a well tailored suit is just about all men need.
