OK, the way the forum works is ... we don't know each other. All you said is that "a guy" gave you a ride home but you're all disappointed because he didn't ask you out. Then you ask us why he didn't.
Don't you see how this is useless unless you give more information?
You could just ask him how he feels about you. Look at it from his perspective, in this day and age guys live in fear of being labeled a creeper if he so much as offends you in the slightest.

It didn't cross his mind ask or he assumed he would see you again anyway. It's not that big of a deal. Next time you see him just offer your number.
