well, So let’s all agree that, regardless of where you get your news, chances are you’re going to run across a sensationalist assh--- whose been given a microphone. If it’s on TV news, regardless of what station, it probably shouldn’t be cited.

I am not a defender of porn or video games. I'll watch the occasional erotica with MrsCPG and haven't touched the controls of a video game since I discovered the opposite sex. Show me a man in his twenties still playing video games more than a couple of times a month, and I'll show you a semi-retarded nitwit who is poised to spend his adult life in his mother's basement. It's just an unrewarding hobby that produces nothing, engages nothing, and grows nothing in the intellect. I ration time on those things out to my boys, telling them to read a book or practice a musical instrument instead. I mean, life is a banquet. And if you choose to starve yourself, then go ahead Sparky. Just don't get on this forum tomorrow and write yet another whiny thread on why you can't find a woman.

But any time an article uses the words "may," "could," or "suggest" without any statistical backup, I know that I'm dealing with a bunch of pseudo-scientific baloney that's been ginned up to grab a cheap and easy book contract.

To be sure, I think our society is suffering from the Entertainment Disease, where everything is about distracting those with the attention spans of tsetse flies. It has infected everything from politics to worship to these pathetic manboys fiddling with the controls of their Xboxes. That being said, jeez, how many women squander an entire evening or weekend of their lives on a marathon watching of those pathetic, jibbering harpies on Sex In The City? Why single out the men?

That being said, there are plenty of men out there who chucked those timewasters after a couple of years of puberty and got on with the business of being men. So to call it the Demise of Guys is way too much of an overstretch.

That's a cop-out. Some video games also promote learning and physical activity.

My Girlfriend is proposing her PHD Thesis this evening...

She plays World of Warcraft more often than that.

I like Porn.... when she isn't around.

We have a VERY 'healthy' relationship, and she says I spoil her.

I'd say the article is crap

Honestly, as human beings we all do things that aren't going to actually produce something "worthwhile." That's just how we roll. And without those things, we're hollow bits of cardboard. Our idiosyncratic likes and dislikes make us human.

That's nice. I'd also say that she is the exception. But, even then, it's kind of an impoverished way to spend large chunks of one's time. I mean, there's an entire universe of things to do out there that really exercise body, mind, or spirit.

Actually no. There is Zuma for the wii. Just Dance. And Wii sports. And they are a work out to keep up.
I believe xbox 360 has interactive games too.
