Tonight we'll just be going up the street since there are two awesome Irish pubs a 5 minute walk up the street. I cannot tell you how much I love living in the city
Yes, that is one benefit of living in the Big City..

No brass knuckles, but I do have a set of rivet gauges on my keychain that could cause some serious damage

I am 5'7 and a half and I don't give them much thought at all. If they are out holding hands in whatever fashion, I don't care. All I know is short women are considered to be attractive while many consider short men to be the opposite.

Whenever I meet short people these days, they always seem to want to mess with me somehow. Enough. Can you expect me to feel any differently than I do? I guess in the past I probably would have naturally befriended them.
It seems that this whole thing about disliking short people was spurred on by this one short woman and whatever she did to set OP off.

But, I think it's wonderful that we can start lumping folks together. Let's see, we've got short people in the corner by the step stools, black people over there at the fried chicken table, fat people by the sofas, the anorexics are in the bathrooms . . .

When I see them in stores I don't think they are trying to ask for help. It's more like a little diminutive version of a fighting or threatening move or something. Then they go scampering across the floor and around the corner. Does that make sense?

I also think that sometime when someone describes another person as "short" they are actually referring to these non-height characteristics. As a quick way of labeling people.
