When someone is a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10 then they have a right to be picky. When someone is a 6 or 7 on a scale of 1 to 10 then they shouldn't be having a lot of demands because they are in competition with better looking women

You're neglecting the most important variable here, and that is that these are two different people. The second one may just be better at thinking up conversation on the fly. Or, if you want to look at it another way, maybe the second one is more self absorbed, because instead of asking another question she turned it around to focus on herself. I'm not saying that's the case, just showing that there are a ton of possibilities here.
