I don't know about 50's but I know a lot of first time couple who married in their 40's and see this more and more.
Yeah, I rarely see people marrying in their 20s, but 30 on up is going on like hot cakes.
I live outside of Chicago and the closer you get to the city the older brides and grooms are. I've worked with several people who married the first time in their 40's like a secretary who married first time at either 44 or 45.
Thinking about couples I know who got married in the last year or two, one was in their 20s (and they are already divorced) and the other 3 were in their 50s.
It is just folks I know, or are there a lot of people getting married in that age bracket? I think I might like to do so when I get to that age, and maybe I am not so weird?

Oh, no! I was just thinking, 'Thank gawd for the edit function.' Then I saw it doesn't work on titles. How embarrassing.
Poople in their 50s getting married
Poople?
(uncomfortably backing off slowly) They never... uh... last long enough to... consider... marriage.
Someone would have to be out of their damn mind to wait until their 50s to get married. I don't know anyone who's married that late in life unless it were their second or third marriage or something.
