I did date someone a few years back who made a living playing poker, but would not consider it again. Long nights among bad company don't make one a better person, you know? It's the whole company you keep thing.
not always bad company, but yeah the hours can be rough.. and it's also a very stressful game so I could see how that would rub off on the s/o too.
I knew two professional gamblers. They both eventually crashed and burned, but when they were in their glory moment and winning $$$ it was all good. lol

hahahah, probably poor bankroll management. spent too much money when the times were good and moved up their stakes too quickly and hit a cold streak.
it's very very easy to go broke in that game... itll make you age quickly
My buddy and I thought about doing it in our early twenties. We were trying to get our BR started online and we were doing a good job of it, but then they shut the online play down. We didn't have the roll to start doing it legit and feel comfortable about paying rent so we abandoned it. If I ever come into money my first goal is to get my friend a WSOP buy in. He's got the chops to do it.

Personally I've only known one guy to try it..he left a job we were working overtime on and clearing about $1600 a week when he decided to go to Vegas and become a high roller..all I know for a fact is that he drove out there in a $20,000 pickup truck and came home a few months later on a half million dollar Greyhound bus..so depending on how you look at it,was he a winner?
