We're sorry —

finding a happy relationship. Thank you for trying eHarmony;

ps. I smoke less than a pack a day and rarely in the house.
I smoke e-cigarette (vapor) and it makes me crave less.
I will have my teeth whitened.
Dating Pool cuts down by 80%+ because of this.
What's with the "smoke occasionally" thing ? Is that code word for smoking pot ?

I quite smoking, then met and married a gal who smokes. So I started smoking again, then quit with the hope that she might follow suit. She hasn't yet.
No, I don't think so. Just as much as you will not stop smoking for a woman, many men and women chose not to be in relationships with smokers.
I think it is a good thing that you let people know up front that you are a smoker, though.
I had on my profile that I did not want smokers and went on dates with 2 men who told me they were non-smokers and were smoking on our date.
Some people just really prefer not to be with a smoker for whatever the reason is.
My reason is that I have never been a smoker and never wanted to be a smoker. My mother died from Small cell lung carcinoma which spread to her liver, kidneys, brain, and bones. It was not fun losing her that way, or at all.
Cigarettes give me headaches. My ex-husband smoked them, and kissing him was disgusting. I stopped kissing him.
A woman may not want to date a smoker just like you may not want to date someone with red hair or who is overweight, for example.
You should not have to change who you are for a woman, and a woman should not have to change who she is and date a smoker if she does not want to.
I would suggest you stop for better overall health, but of course, that is your decision.
It is preference. Some people prefer not to date smokers. I guess it looks like it is more than less.

yeah but you're a guy. Women are more intransigent.
I haven't smoked in any fashion a day in my life. I can't stand the smoke, and it makes me cough uncontrollably. I will not ever date a woman who smokes, even if it's as little as a pack a day or less. It is a deal breaker in every way.
Also, try meeting women at a smoke shop. The one close by me always has customers buying smokes.
oh, I realize, yet some say online they will not tolerate it
but in real life they will... if you are considerate.
serious objectors aside, like Pikantari who posted
above, that I totally understand.
Then your dating pool will continue to be diminished by 80%. Is the tradeoff worth it?
Even if you smoke less than a pack a day and you rarely smoke in your house, non-smokers can still smell it on you. And please don't be one of those deluded smokers who believes you somehow manage to smoke in a way that magically doesn't make your clothes, hair, and breath smell like stale smoke.
Quitting can be a b.itch. If you're trying, keep at it. If you're not trying... well, I guess you're stuck choosing among the remaining 20%.
