Well, I have known people who, finding themselves at a crossroads in their marriages, appealed to relatives for advice. The relatives might be wont to say, "Look, it's never easy, but I divorced, and managed to survive just fine. You're still young - for now. You have options - for now. Try divorce. If it doesn't work, later you could reconcile." The person asking the question indeed went on to divorce.
