You have to leave the toilet seat up
Why?
Because I might fall in
Then look before you sit
Just leave the seat down....you supposed to....I'm your wife
Than you'll yell at me for getting the seat wet

Who came with this rule...I've heard it all my life "leave the seat down so I don't fall in." God gave two eyes, and two hands and the mental capacity to operate the flush lever, but for some reason working the toilet seat gives you trouble.

That is all

My husband came already trained by his mother. We skipped this argument.

Everyone should put the entire lid down before they flush. It's gross otherwise.

That's what I do.

That is the rule in our house. It is more hygienic and totally neutralizes the gender discrimination argument.

Toilet should have BOTH - seat AND lid down. Always. The interior is not a show piece, ya know?

it constantly amazes me that everyone doesn't just agree to this and this stupid "argument" goes on and on

such an easy compromise solution, plus you don't have an open container of water that may have trace amounts of feces in it sitting around all day (possibly getting drunk by your pets if you have any)

Leaving the toilet seat up can lead to brain injuries. I'm not joking.

Middle of the night, the man goes to the toilet (He's not the type to sit down and pee), he gets a bit giddy, falls backwards, and hits the back of his head on the wash basin or the bath.

Sit down when sleepy.

Yep, the entire toilet should be left closed when not used. I learned of this some years ago:

New evidence that flushing your toilet with the lid up is a public health hazard | SmartPlanet
Quote:
Flushing the toilet with the lid up sprays a fine mist of bacteria-laden
water into the air, which can settle on every surface on the bathroom, including your toothbrush.
And that is the way we do it in my house.
