That was my favorite music era, why isn't that the music they play for nostalgic times, I usually want to puke when I hear Disco 70's tunes. That's the theme coming up for another dance with my meetup group and a lot of them are in their 40s. What's up with that.
I'm an old school metalhead... but I can listen to anything.... I can go way way back to music from the 40's like The Mills Brothers.... to Frank Sinatra to Bob Marley to Merle Haggard and back to Slipknot..... I can mix in some Trip Hop as well......
Don't do much in the way of rap, but I'm very familiar with it.......... at least the old stuff....don't know much about this lil wanye nonsense.........

I am a rocker to the core, but this one folk band grabbed my attention recently.

Don't get me wrong, I like music from waaaaaaaaay back too, I'm just talking when I go out dancing, I prefer to dance to todays beats or 80's early 90's and a lot of the euro bands as well.
PS, when we took in a stray cat and her kit's I named the kits after the cats in CATs. LOL oh and one kitten I named Gershwin.
I was a theater rat, so I have an ear for all kinds of sounds.

"I like a Gershwin tune. How about you?"
I love all kinds of older music from my parents playing it all the time when I was little. It's also funny how you can discover certain types of music in unlikely places. Look at all the classical music in cartoons. I first heard, and fell in love with, "La Violetera" on The Benny Hill Show of all places. Caleta de Fuste - Fuerteventura - YouTube
I discovered Ravel's "Bolero" by watching "10" with Bo Derek and Dudley Moore. It's one of my all-time favorites. (The music, not the movie, heh.)
