Thought: maybe age-group makes a difference. Possibly if they analyzed for age, two different graphs might emerge for youger (than whatever cut-off point), and older.
i think this is probably true. also, the quality of the message itself matters - the linked article lumps good and bad writers who share the same level of attractiveness together. that could cause different response rates too
I disagree with Supine as well about Jada. She is nowhere near the type I instinctively prefer - she is too thin and not physically large enough - but I still think she is a very attractive woman. I don't know her very well, though I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with her long years ago. I don't think that you'd find many men, Black or otherwise, who would not find Jada Pinkett Smith attractive.
Obviously, will smith would agree with you too.
She is too short obviously, and she might not have the body I want to have. But nobody can deny she is a beautiful lady.
Women always tell me that men like tall women and point to models to show it.
I think a lot of men prefer shorter women, although this might be due to the fact a shorter woman makes the guy look taller by comparison.
I'm about 5'5", but I usually wear 3-4" heels on a daily basis. I'll dig out the 5" heels for very dressy occasions. I've dated a few guys who were about 5'8" who asked me to stop wearing heels because they wanted me to look shorter if I stood next to them.
so in that sense, short guys do finish last. why is it impossible there's similar relationship between height and romantic success?
now, i agree with the notion short guys still have quite a good chance at love and that many here complaining about it have more pressing issues than their height. and agree they should stop whining and get out there and date
but to pretend height is irrelevant is silly. all else being equal, it's better for a man to be tall than short when it comes to dating
I've seen this study before, and while it is a solid study, it discusses correlation and not causality. In other words, the study (which can probably be refuted by other studies, that's way these studies always seem to work) does not try to claim being short is the cause of lower levels of career success. If someone doesn't realize the difference, it can become a self-fulfilling prophecy, which seems to be the case for some of our vertically challenged friends here on the forum.

Models.
They like models.
A tall woman has to be extremely thin to make up for her height, if she's tall (and usually by tall they mean 5'6 or so) and average or even fat? No chance at all.

I dated for a few weeks a woman who was about 6'1" maybe 6'2" AND she wore heels! It didn't bother me at all, and she didn't seem to mind, either. We did draw a few looks while out in public, and instead of being defensive about it, I welcomed it.

yes i specifically used the word correlation
i believe the authors even mention the notion that the shorter men might be sabotaging themselves (sort of like the self-fulfillment you suggest). although i can't remember and may be mixing it up with some other source i read (i believe there has been more than one study)
all that said, given the correlation as well as my own anecdotal experience... i'm still pretty firmly in the camp that it's better to be tall. even though i'm average height and quite happy with both my career and dating experiences
She is too short for my taste, better? what is your problem man?
Well, I'm not a man and I don't have a problem. I just found it strange for a woman to describe another woman as obviously too short. I wondered what you meant by her being obviously too short since I thought you were a heterosexual woman. That's all.
