I can't remember what chic flick we were watching, it was something Indie. Quirky, dysfunctional people who fall in love. We both enjoyed.
DH mentioned afterwards that even though it was a happy ending, it would end disaster. Very entertaining to watch, torture to live.

I think what you are missing is that no matter how 3 dimensional movie/book/TV characters might seem - they are not real people. My husband and I were laughing while watching Stupid, Crazy, Love the other night because he thought that I would probably act just like Emma Stone when she first goes home with Ryan Gosling. I can see similarities between myself and many characters - and I can see similarities between my husband and many characters - but we are real people and we are so much more than what is depicted in 2.5 hours.
The role of Gosling's career. Even I wanted to eff him! Julianne Moore and Marisa Tomei are still very beautiful women. Emma Stone was at her best in Zombieland (Does she qualify as a butt kicking, no nonsense MPDG in that film?) haha

I love that movie (Crazy, Stupid, Love). I agree - Julianne Moore and Marisa Tomei still look gorgeous. I told my husband that I hope I age that well! I haven't seen Zombieland abut I'm a big Emma Stone fan.
