So I hang out with a good buddy of mine who is the same age and married for 14 years. I like his wife but she is very jealous. Recently he has begun admitting to me and our other beer buddies that he wishes he had never gotten married. When I all go out with he and his wife she always asks me why I've never married and what my problem is. I actually don't have a problem, i've just never married, that's all. She doesn't seem to like her husband hanging around with single guys but that's not really my problem.
They have a 14 year-old daughter and she's forever curious and more vocal about why i've never married. Last week she asked me to come out of the closet. I'm not in the closet, i've just never married, that's all. It's very annoying and i've taken to talking to my buddy about his daughter's rude behavior because i'm tired of being under interrogation by a teenager. So I never married...big f**kin deal?
i wonder out of all those people who have the audacity to ask other people when they are going to get married, what their own marital status is, and if they are married, the quality of their relationship. its like if they were THAT happy, the person would be in bed with the SO rather than having nothing better to do than asking strangers when they were going to get married...

If your friends have a 15-year old, then you all must be right around 40, more or less? There's still plenty of time to meet someone and get married (in theory, if you're into that). Next time someone asks you why you've "never" married, just laugh, and say, "Well, I'm not dead yet! It's a bit early to say "never"!" And change the subject.
Here's my thing...if you are proud and stand by your choice not to marry or have kids, questions like this feel like striking the lotto.
Idk, maybe it's just me. I love to get a rise out of people who ask me that-because they seem to think its everyone's responsibility to do so. I like to "inform" them...in my soft, subtle, sweet way...
