Well, I don't know. It's the norm here I think, but maybe you're in a less populated area. Of course, the key is to not have a lame profile. Most people do. This is just part of a email I got last night on OKC. This person is too far away for us to get together though:

You make me want to have a more interesting profile
Mine sucks but I haven't updated it.
You're an individual, how refreshing

I have been asked out by a number of women...and I was 10 years older than most of them.

Simple question. Why must you assume we don't?

This. The dudes who think women don't ask them out (or drop major hints that they want to be asked out), are dudes who just aren't getting the ladies' attention. They can't assume their experience is universal for dude-kind. It's like women who don't get asked out. They'd be crazy to assume that no other women are getting asked out. Why do some dudes think so lame?

Dude! Start a thread on how to write a chick-magnet profile! You're in bizness!

Ha, hardly. Most people have success with OLD, that is why it is so popular. I don't think the naysayers on this forum (or any forum) are the norm.

The only "trick" out there is to be real and dump the formulaic crud. If you're not incredibly boring and can write halfway decently and come across as not incredibly lame, you'll do fine (assuming you're not obese and/or in a dating wasteland).

Well, but, this forum is your audience. They're the ones who need your pearls of wisdom, lol! But I take your point. Be creative, show some originality. Got that, C-D dudes? (Easier said than done...)

Q. Why don't women ask men out?

A. Because we don't want to.
