Only the really hot people IME will cut things off if someone isn't up to their standards. But even with hot people, looks aren't always the end all be all, even if it's early on.

That doesn't even make any sense. How can he know her personality if he barely knows her? If he liked the way she looked, he'd take the trouble to get to know her. If he won't take the trouble to get to know her, it is because he doesn't like the way she looks.
