Pretty accurate, though. I thought it was a good one to post since people in another thread were talking about "settling."

Pretty harsh but I can find no fault with it. However, I did get bored with it by around the 2 minute mark.

How would any of that be any different if you married someone extremely hot?

Yeah, god forbid you "settle" for a real, faulty human.
God forbid you not be "special" and just be a regular human and enjoy it.
And most people aren't actually going to do anything that great, writing a book, inventing anything, or whatever, and certainly not as amazing and iimportant as raising kids.
Then again, having kids wouldn't really stop you from doing those special things if you really were that special and capable of doing those things. Throughout life, people tend to fill their spare time with self-enjoyment time, so even if you don't have the kids, you're unlikely to spend the extra time to invent the next big thing.

The whole thing she describes actually sounds quite wonderful.
Everyone in American culture looks down upon living a normal life. People with disabilities or other problems have no such illusions, you'd be amazed how great it is to just live a normal life. You're presuming too much is possible out of life

I've watched that video a few times. If you want the most bubbly person in your office to shut up, make them watch that video. You will not hear a peep outta them. It is that depressing.

Only depressing if you succumb to that mind set.

I thought is was funny, as someone who has no aspiration to get married or have children. Someone outside happy not to be "in".

Again, why is living a normal life depressing?
And people wonder why relationships and marriage is so messed up nowadays?

life is what you make of it. either you take the lead in steering the rudder, or it will lead you.

it's depressing for ppl who glorify "the simple things". like wedding, i don't know any guy who is thrilled about wedding drama (see Sex and the City the movie). there is even a show call Bridezilla, clip below. and then there is wonderful fantasy of marriage and living happily ever after... if ppl stop living life with rose colored glasses then maybe they may truly find a life worth living.

i'd rather search for my soulmate for the rest of my life than have a bullcr@p relationship like that.
