But I would not approach you if that was on a dating website. I am not against guns, but it just isn't appropriate. But since you haven't posted it there anyway, no need to discuss it further.

Plus, you are wearing a wedding band.
My point was that for younger people, pictures where the testosterone level seems to be very high, despite being cheesy and obnoxious (such as the half naked cowboy hat pictures you mentioned or my "looking down the barrel of a .45 profile pic) , tend to elicit more response from women than pictures that evoke thoughts of sensitivity or intellect, such as holding a pet or standing in front of a museum. You can say "put your shirt on" or "lose the motorcycle/sportscar/jetski/other fast dangerous prop" but experience suggests that these are the pictures that, at least for younger women, attract the most attention.

Maybe things change as we grow up, but maybe they don't. It varies tremendously for individuals. I know that in my experience the time after my divorce when I was the least stable, participated in the most risky behavior, stayed out latest, and had the most 'macho' hobbies I got more female attention than any other time in my life.

I love my pets, but taking pictures holding them seems like something I would do when in a relationship more than being a single guy on the prowl. I think it subconsciously projects stability and sensitivity, which is ok in moderation but not really all that interesting to many women but kinda boring to most others without some masculine imagery to back it up.

Yea its definitely annoying! Girls who do that generally arent right in the head. Guys who do it are more likely doing it to lure girls who are animal lovers tho lol.

Even when I was in my early teens my gf's and I used to laugh all the time at guys who felt they had to compensate for something by being all macho. And not date them. I don't think it's an age thing.

No, but I am completely turned-off by an attitude of "I OWN MY pet as MY PROPERTY AND THEY MUST OBEY ME FOR EVER!".~ <--Collars, leashes, and cages say this to me when I see these in pictures.~ -.-

If they had kids in their photos, I just moved on, even if the profile said they don't have any. If they want to hang with kids, they don't want to hang with me.
