Default Fictitious threads?

Fictitious threads?
Does anyone else ever wonder if certain threads are fictitious in content?

Do you ever wonder since we are only hearing one side if it is honest real information or questions or the wanting of help for something that is not real.?

Or one side of a relationship if the other person is as bad as the poster is saying?

Or could be a college student doing a class project, pulling at the heart strings, who will offer help or criticisms sort of thing?

Or if the person is an abuser posting things here and then tells the victim see everyone thinks this or that.

Just curious if anyone else has thought this at all.

Yup, yup yup..... That's why I kept pointing out threads started by first-time C-D posters in this forum..... Oddly none of them ever came back.....

People don't come to City-data to post in the relationships forum. They may stay because of it, but that's not primarily what this site is for so it makes no sense that their first post would be here.

So yes, I believe we're being played half of the time and it's why I stay out of a lot of threads.....

I suspect that goes on more than most people think. That's why I try not to get angry if something offends me, because 1) it could have been written specifically to get a rise out of people and nothing else and 2) it's just the internet. Serious discourse is not a bad thing--if someone gets something out of it, what does it matter if a poster(s) was insincere? But what the OP listed are some good reasons why I don't like to think about online forums at all once I've turned the computer off. Not worth it.

Right now, there is only one person I am suspecting and he knows it. (We've had PM words, lol.)

My problem is, my posts are TOO honest. "Voted most likely to be shot in a drive-by" because she writes too much about the past present and future relationships in her life....MAINSTREET!!! {take a bow....}

Onetime I tried to register with a Narcissistic Personality Disorder victim support group. In the application I wrote about my friend who dated 10 women in my office at the same time. They didn't believe me and rejected me.

Sometime the truth is stranger than fiction. So I have a tendency to believe posts, UNLESS the OP doesn't participate after their thread starter. That irks me.

I would hope not-have been here awhile. there are certain threads that are odd, however.
