It's interesting: when advertisers want to project an image of honesty and forthrightness, they frequently employ a black male spokesman. Like the Allstate ads.
Possibly, women are tired of the Prozac-ed, passive aggressive, "sensitive" white male, who likely cruises men's bathrooms for kinky thrills in his spare time.
I just want to comment on the Allstate ad commercials;
I was just watching one last evening thinking the same thing to myself,
So strong is the power of suggestion" and to the post that mentioned that Hollywood had a lot to do with it.
Here where I live it's rampant, i also feel that it's a fad; But it's cheap and tacky
for any women to hunt down a man, no matter what his race is. and that's all they do here. i was in a popular store and was buying a card and on my way to a funeral; and the cashier wf, stopped what she was doing and ran out of the door behind these bm's, and it just seemed so skankish" I didn't want to use this word , but this is the best way i could describe this scenario. it was like a freaknik, her and a her friend (with my credit card in their hands) screaming and following them to the parking lot. I just felt sad for them; this is totally desperate" if you know what I mean. El Cheapo'
IR relationships were taboo when I was young (one thousand years ago) but today it is as acceptable and as common as Starbucks in a large urban US city--on every corner.

hun, it was the water....they drug ya and take advantage of you, and in the morning, make you make them breakfast....and that culture is ok, long as they untie me by mid noon...yanno
Wow Creme!!!! Think Omar Epps does this kind of stuff to women?? Where do I sign up?
I'm sure my post will offend some, but it's just my honest perspective.
I've seen the same trend as the OP, though I don't think it's some sort of mania. Specifically I'm referring to white women who "seek" black men. I think it could be a generational thing that some of you aren't "getting". Or maybe it's just the neighborhood I grew up in, I don't know.
But coming up, I would here quite often from the most pale skinned white women, and I quote: "I ONLY date black men". Now here is where I generalize, cause that's what I do sometimes, and again it's just my observations. Some of these women were raised with racist fathers and were acting out, some of them genuinely hated their own race and had low self esteem, some of them were very ignorant about black people and their man was basicly a "trophy"
It used to bother me, being white and a girl I liked would say she only dated black men. I learned to not take it personally and now I just think it's really dumb. It's hard enough to find a good partner, why narrow your options by excluding most of the population?
As I've gotten older, I've met fewer women who have this attitude, I think it's an immature attitude that young women grow out of. I believe only a small percentage of inter-racial couples are of this type
How I wish I could openly state my thoughts and opinions that are derived through experience, without getting penalized, and make some of these women realize this is only a fad perpetrated, by the Hollywood-cesspool-mentality, and that many of them will pay dearly for their choices! You are right in many of your opinions.

You sound like you're from "Savannah" LOL
are you? Just teasing, it's not what you do in dating, it's how you do it;
People are entitled to love anyone they want to ,we're all of God's creation.
When i spoke of fad, fro personal experience and comments made to me from people that i know. that's what most of this is. Why would someone want to run behind someone because they are "Hot". Dating should not be based on how fast you can get someone in the sack", This porno imaging (what a very close person mentioned) of IR couples together has a lot to do with it, and "Shock and Awe" rebellion against parents and people who are racist.
If two people love each other and treat one another with respect " go for it".

Please state your thoughts and opinions - no matter which way you feel on this subject. So some people may be offended ~ Who Cares, this is still a free country!
after carefully reading many of these posts i am convinced that the author of the thread is correct. the innate hatred i see expressed towards white males by some white females in the posts, would give them great common ground with many black males, indeed a good match. thank you for the good post you got rep.

I don't hate white men, and I really don't think anyone else in here does either....
OK, if you hate white males, raise your hands....
I'm white and I love white me, and green and red...why, we went to a baseball game down in Philly and I sang..."It's Rainin Men" I love men, and don't care what color they are....
we're all just having some fun....
