does being in tech, engineering, or the hard sciences (nerds) stunt your social life and development? should we have any sympathy for these guys who choose this lack of social lifestyle?
take a look at this silicon valley halloween party these guys are getting criticized primary because it was themed "hackers and hookers", like they should have known better.
This is a company party. You don't think that it's a wee bit discriminatory to imply (and not even imply, explicitly state) that female coworkers have to dress like prostitutes to participate?
but i am so tired of this GI Jane "anything you can do i can do better" political correctness propaganda. yeah, we get it. been there done that. and i'm sure one day a black man will become president of the United States.
you know, it's interesting, i have many years in the healthcare field and i have yet to see any heavy recruitment effort for more men in nursing. and i would sure like to see more men doing it because i think they bring a certain value to the profession the is currently under-represented.

Obama? That's nothing. I am currently working on my master plan to be the first Chinese Atheist Socialist president! It will be probably be complete by the year 3043. If I happen to be dead by then, my loyal followers will resurrect me from cryogenic sleep.

Funny you say that as a guy trying to getting into a nursing program. I must say not all men are cut out for nursing IMO . On top that I very open to working in the NICU or with kids. Not to many men are willing to take care of other people's sick children.
I also hate the PC police and do not trust people that do not find anything funny .

The silicon Valley type of nerds are very attractive, because they are intelligent, motivated, and educated. Those are all very good qualities in a man.
Personally, I would not go to a party where I would not be admitted unless I dressed up like a hooker.
I don't know if the sponsors of the party genuinely expect Silicon Valley Nerd women to dress up like Madonna, or if they think that the nerd men wills show up because they are expecting to see a lot of skin and spiked heels (that won't be there, but hey, once the entrance fee is paid, no refunds.)
They also make a lot of money! Another good quality in a mate, male or female.
