Back to the original question, 14 or 15 pages back. In a perfect world, it's tough to say if men necessarily age better than women. However, women are more opt to be attracted to slightly older men, than the reverse, which gives men a somewhat more selective advantage beyond their 20's. Many men, even those is their early 20's can look like garbage if they dress lousy, have poor sleeping and eating habits, and possibly smoke, the same is certainly true with women. I believe most of these threads are started by men looking for validation for their lack of success with the opposite sex, and this is coming from a guy.
Keeping sub-18 year old females from forming relationships with adult men is a social convention that caters to women who, as a class, simply don't like the fact that nature so heavily front-loads their sexual appeal into the second 1.5 decade of their life. Young women aged 14 to 18 are kept off the sexual marketplace so that they don't compete for older men and thereby hurt the feelings of aging women.
That is some of the most warped thinking I've seen here, and that is saying a LOT. I don't know anyone more intent on keeping teen girls off the sexual market than the father's, with the mother's being second. I don't a single women who feels teenage girls are competition.
