If Someone mentioned that they were taking a chance on marriage knowing that there is always the option of divorce should things turn bad would you think such a person is better served not getting married at all or do you think it's fair to have this type of attitude?

Death is an inevitable fact of existence. . . .

Someone should not attempt to avoid living just because they are conscious of the fact that they will eventually die at some point.

Marriage involves a certain amount of risk (emotional risk, trust, etc.) - Without risk of any kind - life would be meaningless.

My personal opinion is that if someone has to tell themselves that there is always the option of divorce in order to feel comfortable getting married - they either aren't ready for marriage or they aren't marrying the right person. I mean, it's obvious that there is always the option of divorce - but marriage is a huge commitment and I don't think it should be made with one foot out the door. But that's just me.

Till death shall you part. Too many think marriage is a throw away, and ruin many people other than themselves in their selfish quest.

deciding to tie the knot should be like a plane ride--you know you can't just open the door and jump out...

Marriage is a commitment. That's the whole point. It's a CHOICE to stay with that person no matter what.

If you truly are committed, then divorce is not something you consider.

There's always that chance that any relationship will fail and to think otherwise would be naive.

I just read Lyssa Chapman's book, and Dog the bounty hunter is anything but a father. My daughter is on a pedestal, whereas she lead a life of poverty, and drugs. Point: As a spouse we commit to obligations that go beyond our own lives, and whether man, or women need to live up to that.
