How tall are they? That's extremely important for men online

If those pictures are indicative of the online dating population, a lot of you need to take more time with your photos and description. It's like going to a bar in sweatpants and wondering why nobody will talk to to you.

I must agree with the topic starter. I feel that it's probably just an arbitrary number picked out of thin air by some bought study conjured up by some advert boy to appease some mogul and has been wrapped and packed for consumption by the masses. It's their job! They breed discontent and keep us fractionalized as a society. On the other hand, Dr. Goebbels would be proud of how they use propaganda today. If the people selling this junk and their gadgets would stop perverting minds, we wouldn't be here talking about it because we'd be too busy in a lifelong relationship enjoying our friends and family.

Cheers,
bolillo

You have got to be kidding me? Is a woman going to take a guys picture seriously if he looks like he is done up for a model shoot, but doesn't look like a model? I say your best bet is to take pictures of you doing activities. I will admit that the selfies aren't going to do you any good. You really need someone to come through and take pictures for you. Ladies though, if you have 8 profile pictures, don't let them all be a headshot from different angles. It's not like one angle is going to show off beauty that you didn't have in the other 7 headshots. I'm not stupid either ladies, I know you have all those headshots, because at those different angles, it disguises easier that you are overweight. Lets be real here and keep the kid games at home. I rather see one headshot, one full body, and one activity. I at least get an idea of what you look like and then I can read your profile to see if you REALLY interest me.

I did not say anything about a model shoot. Candid photos of activities is a good idea. We've got bad lighting, partially obscured faces, a pic of a grimacing woman, a hairy armpit, several gloomy expressions, and so on.

Because women don't believe that. They are more inclined to attribute bad luck they are having to themselves being unattractive.

I'm not disagreeing on the pics aren't exactly eye catching, but it's hard for any person to convey the "perfect" pictures online. What one woman may like, two others will hate. What's so hard for most men, is they likely dumb down their profile pics, because they don't see much better from women.
