Have to have dates to have the stories. Eight months, no dates, barely any responses. FML.

I tried the online dating thing after my divorce for a while. It sucks if you're a guy. I used current pictures on my profile, but I discovered that many of the women my age (mid 30's) did not. After about four or five "meetups" with different women I'd talked to for weeks online only to find out they're 100lbs heavier than their photos that were taken 10 years ago, I gave up and deleted all my profiles.

To make matters worse, not only did the women I met misrepresent themselves in their pictures, but they also omitted other facts about themselves in our prior conversations. Two of the women were actually married! One claimed to be separated, and one just blatantly told me she was "thinking" of leaving her husband. That's kind of need-to-know information before you go out on a date with someone.

I personally don't have any horror stories, but some of the women I went on dates told me some doozies, like the guys wife texting her phone on the first date, even though he said he wasn't married, another one told me of a guy who wanted her to come back to his place to have sex with him and his friend, and got so angry when she refused, she thought she was going to have to call the police just to get out of there, and I lost count of hearing how many guys showed up, in dirty clothes, or smelling really bad. And of guys who couldn't pay on a first date, because they left their wallet, and they were the ones who ordered the most expensive things on the menu.

Oh yeah there are the left my wallet guys, I'm not used to wearing clothes, (my family calls him scuba steve ), the guy that talks into his coat, the guy that invites his friend to come, the guy that lied about his pic, the guy that has a competion with his dad, married and forgot that.....online dating is crazy.
But many were normal a senior math teacher, a computer tech, sales man, biologist, etc.

So its a hit and miss.

Yeah the person who shows up not looking like their pic is more common than I would like to admit. I have gone on so many dates, that I was given a compliment for actually looking like my picture. Sad state of affairs, when you have to thank someone for looking their actual picture.

I arranged to meet a lady at a local restaurant, and when she saw me she said in disappointment, "OH it's you" .

I have given up on internet dating. I met more than 30 guys within the last year and could write a book about it.

About 10% were like they presented themselves on the dating site.

Worst date was with the guy who was so shy that he could hardly talk to me, but then bombarded me afterwards with penis pics and dirty texts. I couldnt get rid of him for a month. I got 5 AM texts sounding like that "LOL, woke up with a huge boner, what should I do about it?".

UGH.

Or the 49 year old guy who looked like a 65 year old guy with a bad facelift and his immature texts that had LOL's in every sentence.

Or the guy who wanted me to sell my house and move in with him 10 minutes after we met. He was mad when I said, "let's date a few times first".

NO MORE!!

Lol....it is sad. I usually give a good pic and a bad one. So they look and say hmmmm I dunno....
Then I show up and they either say oh hell no or oh she's not that ugly. Lol
