I can't speak for all of my guy friends but I can say that a lot of us have dated across the board. Short, tall, skinny, fat, athletic. Some of my friends have dated more towards their own body types but also dated across the spectrum.
Men, by a long, long shot. When men talk about their preferences, it really is just that: preference. For women, it's truly a misnomer and what they really mean is requirement. Men, in general, can find a wide variety of women attractive (and hence, the majority of women will at least be attractive to him), while most women are all attracted to the same, small and yet elusive minority of men that have all of the features they desire.
Example: When a man says he prefers a girl with a big ass, he still open to dating a girl with a small one as long as she makes up for it somewhere else. On the other hand, when a woman says she "prefers" a guy of a certain race or to at least be X height, she will under no circumstance date a man that is not of that race or reaches X height. The reason for this is evolutionary, since women being arbiters of natural selection, by nature have to be more pickier/"shallower" than men.

Men. A fair number of them will go out with any woman with a pulse if they think it will lead to sex.
I don't have a physical preference. All the guys I've had relationships with have been boob men. Go figure.
All men are boob men. It is the only thing that unites all men, across creed, race, religion and even sexuality: a fascination and admiration for jugs.
All men also like Breaking Bad, that's the other unifying thing.
