I don't typically bring it up because I protect myself and will abort if I do get pregnant. Since it is my decision (although, I do believe men should have a say...to a point), I don't need to bring it up. However, men will usually ask me if I'm on birth control. I will tell them I am, but if it fails, he'll never know (abortion). The men that freak out over that last comment, well, that's us not being on the same page and can become a dealbreaker. We'll probably discuss it more, but honestly, I'm already over it.

Just be happy you do not live in Sweden if you think woman abortion right are to harsh.

I think if a your in a long term relationship together for a few years you should talk about it. I know a few woman that were in LTR well over a few years and got an Abortion but did tell there BF or talk to him about it. To me that a salp in the face I know its a woman's call but not do even talk to me about it . It not cool to hide it like noting is wrong .

If a girl did that to me after we were dating for a few years i feel like i am not good enough in her eyes to be a dad.

In Sweden the law is as follows............

The current legislation is the Abortion Act of 1974 (SFS 1974:595). This states that up until the end of the eighteenth week of the pregnancy the choice of an abortion is entirely up to the woman, for any reason whatsoever. After the 18th a woman needs a permission from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) to have an abortion. Permission for these late abortions is usually granted for cases in which the fetus or mother are unhealthy.

If "Do you discuss pregnancy" means "Do you talk about birth control and diseases" then yes, back in my single days I always did. A major objective was to prevent pregnancy, so talking about it was along the lines of "Let's make sure it doesn't happen". I think it's where a man can show a woman that he cares about what he's doing and the woman he's doing it with; not to mention, getting a woman pregnant can change your life in ways that you might not willingly choose.

There was one woman that I was partners with for several years, and she'd had more experience than I had with some pretty casual relationships. I asked her once what guys said to her before having sex, and she said that pretty much they just wanted to get started and never mind what happened afterward. With that in the past, I'm not sure that she wanted me to bring it up, she was just used to being responsible for it herself. I don't think that men should treat women that way or that women should accept it, but maybe that's just me.

This was the law in the US until very recently. Still is, in parts of the US. Only it's 12 weeks instead of 18, and the permission comes from a state board, IIUC. The right wing have worked hard to make the recent restrictions.

I could see discussing this when you are much older and more experienced, but it would have come across as creepy in my early escapades. Not that protection wasn't important.

I have to disagree. Only because I had a late-term abortion many years ago and I didn't need to get any sort of approval....not even that of my parents as I was underage.
