What are some of the ways to let him know you are interested? (woman, friend)

So follow up on my previous thread, are there hints that you drop to let your guys know you are interested at the beginning of your courtship? What are some ways you have tried to get him to spend more time with you (without being toooooo obvious or aggressive)?

For example, from my past experience, if we are going on a group camping trip, and he stays behind to do something, I sometimes find a reason to stay behind too

I don't know how old you are, but tell a friend to tell him or his friend that you think he's cute.

That'll work every time. Unless of course, he's not interested.

Not surprising either as it's never happened to me.
