Dating him for seven weeks and this friday will be our seventh date. So far we only hold hands and kissed. Is it too soon to be intimate at this time? I really like this dude and I dont want to mess it up. Also, how do I bring up the bf/gf status? I want us to be in a relationship before we have sex. Thanks.

Didn't you have trouble in the past with trying to "put a label" on your relationship?
You have to learn to let things progress. A relationship is not a checklist to cross off, like, "Now we have had X number of dates. We should touch _____. Check. Now we are boyfriend and girlfriend. Check. Update Facebook status. Check. Meet my parents. Check!"
Just get to know each other and see where things go.

Agreed. There is way too much planning involved with relationship development on your end. If you like him, and he likes you, then things will have a way of evolving on their own.
If you treat this too methodically, he might think you are not genuine, thus making him less attracted to you... then you don't get relationship "status." Or sex status.
I just realized you both have been dating once a week every week. Do you guys meet each other at other times too? Or is it just this one time a week?
If you don't want to mess it up, let him make the first move. Just enjoy the process. Doesn't anyone do that anymore, or is everyone counting dates and waiting for the big payoff?
Er, the boyfriend and I hit 3rd base on date three, with was like six days after we started talking, and we DTD on our fourth date only a few days later. We were basically bf/gf after the first date. We both knew what we wanted and I was very clear about what I was looking for.
