Turns out there's a dating app that works that way. Unfortunately, that is no use to people who don't have smartphones. (The app obscures your photo until you choose to unlock it for your 'app-partner'.)

The way it works is two ppl get matched and can view each other's profile, then they have the option of letting the other person see their picture, then the option to set up a date. So there are incremental steps where each person can stop and back out while having to read the profile before judging the picture.

But the way you're doing it, you cannot guarantee that the other person saw your profile.

The presumption here is that at least your (his) profile had sufficient quality to get to advance to the next step.

I lack the two most important things that women want, so I'm not yet seeing any compelling reason to try it. The women have spoken.
