I can be socially awkward and my job is probably "crummy" but I've been with my girlfriend for two and a half years.

Life is what you make of it.

If you're socially awkward it doesn't matter what type of job you have

Women particulary younger women place a VERY high value on guys with great social skills.

Having a crummy job does hurt a mans game big time . One can not be to picky when working a crappy job that suck the life out of you most days.

Why not work on your social skills by going to college so you can also get a better job?

You are basically 100% right. Unless you happen to be secretly rich or strikingly handsome you have no chance. There is also the off chance that you come across someone desperate that will settle for anything?

OK then.

Get a better job
Get off the computer and interact with actual real people until you are no longer "socially awkward"

These people tend to be screwed in the job market unless they have STEM degrees, technical skills, or blue collar skills (e.g. plumber, machinist, etc). Nobody cares about social skills when the pipes freeze.

It certainly wouldn't help, but it won't be much of a disadvantage if you're good looking. That's all that really all that matters at the end of the day. In fact, a good looking socially awkward guy with a crummy job will do orders of magnitude better with women than a non-socially awkward professional that is unattractive.

Correct.

Runner-up: The guy 2nd-most likely to be single is the guy who doesn't make a move, because he's afraid, mentally weak, and/or makes silly generalizations (i.e. "she's hot therefore there's a 100% chance she's taken"). Put simply, the guy who doesn't try.

OP's situation isn't very good as far as attracting women is concerned (especially the social awkwardness), but there are more than a few guys in his shoes who have girlfriends.

Accept your fate:

And look at the bright side

01 You are highly unlikely to ever get an STD

02 You will never have your heart broken due to infidelity, since women will not even remotely consider being in a relationship with you

03 You will save a lot of money by never having to pay child support

04 You will never have to pay an attorney $200-300 an hour to handle asset division and related nonsense in a divorce

05 Despite the fact that you might not have much money - you at least will never lose any of it in a divorce or have to pay alimony

Embrace your journey and accept your struggle. It might turn you into the kind of guy that woman would eventually want to be with and then you can experience all or some of the items listed above.
