I ask this because 99% of the people I talk to always say they met their GF through social circle, work and school. What do you do if none of those are an option for you for various reasons? (For me, none of my friends know any girls, my job is male dominated etc...)

Is the cold approach really even a plausible option? I go out all the time and find the night scene to be impossibly difficult as far as approaching girls goes

Edit: I'm 25

You can try online dating, but you may find that it's worse than meeting women IRL since they are much, much worse on your looks and other shallow factors.

If you can't meet women IRL, and suck at online dating, I don't know what to tell you since I'm in that same boat, and there isn't anyone who can actually help you with this problem.

I make good income, am decent height 5'10', have a college degree and am pretty decent looking. Would OLD work for me?

Maybe. You certainly have a few legs up on me, but that's not saying much.

You want to get professional pictures taken of you, and that's a decent idea, just don't overdo them and make you look like someone you aren't.

I think as long as you don't photo shop them, you should be fine

I dated a man I met at a self serve car wash for a number of years.

I dated a man that I met in a grocery store by the time we got to the salad dressing aisle.

There are plenty of places to meet someone if you take advantage of what is happening around you at the time.

Really? Most women don't seem to be open to that. They want to date somebody from their social circle

Well yeah. Photoshopping is usually noticeable and not a good thing in any picture you plan to put online.

There is no reason you can't meet people the old fashioned way. You are just making excuses. Widen your social circle.

I went to a fundraising dinner last night and sat with a bunch of singles who started as strangers but were all best buddies by the end of the evening, and went off to a bar together after.

Volunteer. Join a non-profit board. Rescue dogs. Take a class. Join a co-ed sport.

My lord, why do basic social interactions have to be explained by total strangers on the Internet?
