Girl just means young women, not necessarily a child. Most young adults shack up at some point.

The god bit blows any credibility out of the water. I would have married someone if I didn't live with this person before hand. That living together showed us we weren't compatible and indeed we would have been divorced. Many divorces have been prevented due to living together.
