As it turns out, there’s actually some truth to the phrase, “use it or lose it.” People who go without sex for extended periods of time often develop a “dearth of drive” and become habituated to living a sexless existence. Testosterone levels in both men and women go down, self-esteem plummets and anxieties go up — so a little dry spell can quickly become a slump and lead to a vicious cycle.

This is true whether you’re coupled or not: Surveys of single women show that the longer they went without sex the less they actually thought about it, or even wanted it. This wasn’t as true of single men, but I counsel lots of guys who deal with a dry spell by getting “graphic with their graphics” and retreating into a hidden world of porn, often becoming tuned out and turned off to real women along the way.

That's interesting Crystalblue - have you found any that continued along in that vein even after they got a new girlfriend?
Sure, women love sex just as much as men, but I also think there is a direct correlation between sex and vulnerability. The more vulnerable a woman is the more likely she'll seek out sex partners.
Men act like sex is air or water, where as women use sex as a nice down quilt, it's a comfort thing, not a life sustaining, all consuming NEED.
It's about time we women breathe more air and drink more water
I work with a woman, who has been married for 15yrs, to the only man she's ever had sex with. If it were up to her she would spend the rest of her life withought sex, she truly gets no satisfaction out of sex, she loves her husband dearly, but feels there's really no need for sex other than to have children. She is also her husbands first.
I too, did not care for sex throught my marriage, in my case though, the thought of my ex touching me made my skin crawl.........however today, with my boyfriend, i can't seem to get enough.
I think everyone likes sex in varied amounts. Hopefully you don't marry someone who varies much from you.
