I always like to keep a 5 o clock shadow because I look way too young without it. But with the shadow I look like rugged as hell! Good look for me!

My 5 o clock shadow beard feels soft though! I rub my face all the time lol

My husband looks great with a little bit of stubble or clean shaven, but I agree with the ouch factor with the 5 o'clock shadow.

Stubble is fine. Can be sexy on some. The same with clean shaven.

Porn mustachs are horrible.

A full beard only looks ok on those guys who are unattractive and need to cover their face.

Goatee only ... not so sure.

My dad has a little something growing under his lower lip (not the chin), not sure what the name is for that. Don't think it is called goatee. It takes 10 years off him and it makes him look young and hip.

I just googled all the beards and have to say, only these guys look good with beards that would look awesome without also.

A beard isn't about looking pretty for the ladies, it is about function and the dislike of shaving.

This pretty much sums up beard attractiveness.

I am in academia and I grow a beard whenever I am on a break. My spring break beards aren't much more than scruff but my summer break beards can be quite lumberjacky. By mid-August I can get quite feral, with 2+ months of beard growth, more hours of canine companionship than human contact during the daytime, and baseball season. My girlfriend complains on occasion, but I can tell that it is just jealousy because growing a beard, much like peeing standing up, bench pressing her body weight, and enjoying a Will Ferrell movie, is a pleasure that she will likely never get to experience due to her gender.
