I decided to approach a woman for the 4th time in my life. She was incredibly attractive. I was shocked to find out she was single. To my surprise, she said yes when I asked her out (we are going out this weekend). During our conversation, she told me "guys don't really ask me out." I always thought women who were beautiful were taken. Usually, I am scared to talk to attractive women. But this time, I wasn't afraid. When she said yes, all my cynicism went away. I actually felt...confident. Guys, has this happened to you? Is it normal?
No.
You cannot live by small victories because women are fickle and/or indirect, and could lead you (either on purpose or inadvertently) on and bail at any time.
I have gotten a woman's number after having a good conversation with her at a party and after ten minutes on the phone with her, she wants to get back to watching TV.
I have had a date that went great, laughter throughout and all of a sudden I was ignored when I called her the next day.
Etc, etc.
Women could jump ship at any moment, and chances are they were never interested in that way in the first place. Not to mention these are the ones that actually gave you their phone number. I'm not even counting the ones who flat out reject you.
It's always rejection in my mind until there's physical contact. The best approach in my mind. (P.S. Even then, you could still get dissed, but at least you got a woman).
Having a high success rate gives a man confidence, 100 declines and 1 yes isn't too encouraging.
