It is aggravating, but I do know with complete certainty that they will wake up one day at age 40 cursing and kicking themselves for not taking advantage of their youth and vitality and lack of ties to be more adventurous.
Hey posters over 40, what were you doing at age 22-23?
I was living as an expat in the UK, making money under the table any way I could, going to music festivals, starting my writing career, protesting at Greenham Common and the South African Embassy and going out every single night.
As a 25 year old, I cannot imagine taking advantage of my youth to do kick-a$& things. Just in the last week, I've gone to an Hindu festival and had fun despite not even being religious. Participated in a mass pillow fight on the grounds of the Washington monument, given a big presentation to people with years of working experience, and planned a road trip to see my favorite music act in Cleveland. I live in probably the best place to be a millennial right now and I'm earning a Masters degree. I also set a goal this week to be a serious comic in DC by age 30.
I used to be one of the whiners on this forum. It took getting sick of looking at my bedroom wall every weekend for me to get out and get something. While my dating life is at a standstill for now, by choice, life is full speed ahead for me and I have his forum to thank,

Great news Dissenter, really glad to hear it, just keep your head up when you have times where you aren't feeling as confident or certain as you do now, our convictions and feelings sometimes wax and wane, so to speak.
Reread this post of yours when you're having a less than stellar time of things.

23 and still live with your parents, well at least you have a college degree which is often considered essential for making it easier to acquire high paying jobs, which should make living on your own financially easier
There is nothing wrong with being 23 and still living with parents. As long as you are doing something for your life like working or going to school and not just laying around all day doing nothing living at home at 23 is fine. Life is so expensive these days that its smart to stay home for as long as you can.

well the older a person gets and they still live with their parents, unfortuneately it looks worse in guys than it does in girls
You must be on the young side...... life is full of double standards... it's just the way things are...
When a bump goes off in the night.... the man has to go check it...
War breaks out, the men do most of the heavy lifting in that.
Men still take out the trash.
Family get togethers, most of the time it's the women doing most of the work.
Women do most of the touchy feely stuff.....
Women still usually get stuck with more of the housework, even if she works out of the home at a job.
There are tons of other things I just hit a few here.
i'm okay doing checking for a bump that goes off during the night or going off to war, protecting, it's being self-sufficient and having my **** together I hate the most
Really are there people in their later 20's and early 30's?
Yep, a lot of people even older than that were taking classes at my college at night. 25 isn't old at all. No one would really notice.
