Hmmm ~ This really make no sense to me, since men usually do end up with a real woman in the end, not the air brushed models~~~Wait I just notice this was with the Onion... LMAO

I once heard it phrased like this: Women are like cars. We men all envision ourselves driving brand new Ferraris but the reality is there are more minivans on the road.
Men put our looks down a lot and compare us to other women all the time. You hardly hear women talking about how gorgeous the men are over in such and such compared to etc. "Average" looks isn't even good enough for them. IF they can find so many gorgeous women in another country why don't they move there?

Fair point. Its actually kinda scary that the satire of this article is so close to reality. I mean... WTF!? I remember this song from years back, Sammy Hagar did it on his first solo album after Montrose. "Plain Jane" was the name of it. LOVE that song. " God how I love ..my lil' Plain Jane". I wouldn't want a supermodel even if I was in that caste. "High maintenance" was never so apt.
Many of these foreign countries you see mentioned, these guys that crow about the women there should dig into the culture a bit more before saying they are better than a good old , all American, girl next door. God love em', cuz I sure do. My lil' Plain Jane, all American, girl next door , well, I'm the luckiest guy on the planet. Nope, she ain't perfect, neither am I, she's not Ms. Universe, but I'm not Mr. Olympia, she has her issues, so do I, and I love her and she loves me back.
My lil' bitty, imperfect, average (not so much go me tho) loveable and mine all mine Plain Jane.

BS, you hear hear women griping about men here all the time although it's probably more along the lines that "men are losers" as opposed to merely less attractive. And I'm sorry if my honest opinion about the rather underwhelming attractiveness of the "average" American woman is upsetting but I think a lot of guys who are relatively well-traveled would agree. Maybe it's our diet, maybe it's a resignation to accept mediocrity, maybe women realize they can get away with the bare minimum of self-maintenance nowadays and still get desperate male attention that makes truly attractive women seem like a novelty in the states sometimes.

Hmmm..."the rather underwhelming attractiveness of the 'average' American woman. That is an interesting opinion. I am well traveled enough, spent considerable time overseas. As a much younger man, I may have agreed with you, to a point, in certain aspects of certain foreign women. However, I got that out of my system long ago. So as of now, I disagree with your assessment of things.
Perhaps some men in the US have this conditioning to mediocrity of which you speak. But, I believe, that is because they are mediocre themselves. Personally, I do not feel slighted in the least with my 'average' American woman. She is representative of a high percentage of American women, in terms of her physical qualities. Perhaps she does not possess the ..exotic..or mysterious physical characteristics of certain Asian women, or the glowing fine features of the platinum women of Scandinavia, or even New Zealand and South Africa.
One can use any representative country a d claim that the women there are 'more beautiful' than the average American woman, especially if you are comparing to far above 'average' examples of women from those countries. In other words, I believe you are skewing the stats a mite. My girl, and many, many "average" American women like her, are entancingly beautiful. They just don't know it a d won't believe it. This humility is sadly lacking with many foreign women. They are beautiful, a d they know it, what's more, which gives them a conceit and arrogance that negates their physical beauty. Leastways, this has been my observation.
Coupled with the contempt for Americans pervasive among this little slice of female heaven, the picture can get white ugly. At any rate, what I see as " beautiful" in any woman, of any nationality, obviously diverges wildly from your take. So there really is no right or wrong there. But I do feel you are in error insofar as stating the average American woman is "mediocre" , in any way or comparison.

The average woman in most countries wouldn't win any beauty contests.

The average woman on the street takes the slack out... if you follow me.... I love the average woman... something about a woman who takes her her down... and lets it flow.... that means a lot to me......
