The reason why I'm posting this now is because I want to get your opinion on whether I have valid reason to raise the topic. I've already expressed my concern about wearing clothes to work and she's gotten a "warning" from a manager at work for overly exposed attire. It is a professional environment with a diverse staff.

Her argument when talking about the topic is always the same - "a girl should always look fabulous" and "other girls dress more 'slutty'." As a measure of judgment, let's use her flip flops she often wears to work, including today. Feet "fetishes" are the most common type of "fetish" (http://goo.gl/Ekfb3z]. I love girls feet, as do other men, and she knows that. She happens to keep her toes pretty ( as you can see), which is awesome. lol

My question is:

Am I in the wrong for saying something like:

"Hey, I don't really like when to see you wear those sandals to work because I don't want other guys looking at your cute feet when you're at work. A lot of guys like feet."?
Why is it your business how your GF dresses to go to work?

Oh for Pete's sake.

OP - the girl works in an office.

She's entitled to have her pretty toes showing, at the very least, just for enduring that particular hell every day.

Leave her alone Bob the Controller. She has enough asshats telling her what to do.

Not everyone cracks a boner over a pedicure, so stop tarring everyone with your own sticky brush.

I think you're right, this is something for HR to deal with. If they do, believe me, it will become something for me to deal with as well.
If she is the type of person to lose or jeopardize her job because she can't follow corporate policies then it would be time for you two to sit and talk.

Please don't be the type of guy who wants to control his GF's clothing choices, whether or not you are with her.

I have to go now, DH needs to know if he is dressed ok for dinner tonight.

You should compliment her on what she has on or say nothing at all. Even my husband knows better than to try and tell me what to wear.

I think this, like a lot of things can be indicative of maturity in a relationship.

While my husband would never tell me what to wear, I pay attention to the things he likes and, I guess, sort of integrate it within the parameters of what I like.

I wouldn't care about my gf having bare feet....I'd be concerned what kind of judgement someone has when they have been warned about their attire in an office, and continue to think she is some diva and do what she wants.
I'd imagine you'd have to look pretty ridiculous to get warned about your attire

I can't see the feet. There is no photo.

But women show their feet. More so than men. You see women in sandals and open toe shoes way more than men because they simply implement it as part of women's fashion. I happen to love a woman in high heel open toes with a shiny earl- cheib quality polish to them, so in a way, I kind of understand the fetish.

But it has to be controlled. Women have caught me looking at their feet before and needless to say I was... embarrassed. Some might find it creepy if a man goes around starring at her toes, so I'm not sure if what your girlfriend is doing is intentional. Try not to be so controlling. It's not like she's dressing with her boobs hanging out.

Offices are hell? I hate what you think of working in a mine, or a construction site in the winter, or on a retail floor...

And NONE of the above have you cheek to jowl for 8 hours every single day, with 20 sociopaths of varying mental deterioration, all listening to every word you say, how you say it, who you say it to...

Everyone dying to be MOST IMPORTANT OFFICE WORKER, the one who sucks up the bosses arse on an hourly basis, the one who can't have a civil word for anyone, the one who has to be approached like a wounded bear just to provide you with something they are PAID to provide...

Or the flu, that runs through every office every winter and half of every summer because said IMPORTANT workers cannot bear to be absent for one single day and have to drag their illnesses in, the better to get brownie points for Self Sacrifice while the rest of us get to inhale said virus through the a/c system and office equipment, THANKS FOR THAT.

Working in an office is like being stuck in a locked classroom on a sunny day while the toddlers all around you pitch fits, scream, demand their binkies etc.

AND you're supposed to be "nice" no matter HOW your boss or colleagues treat you, no matter what outrageous incompetence you witness in some MAN who is paid 10x what you are for skillfully shoveling his responsibilities onto lesser paid shoulders.

Give me snow and customers any day. Or a mine. Or a freakn gulag.
