I agree with ya, Begale. I find the Canadian prairies to be gorgeous.

I find them really pretty in the winter when the sun is rising or setting.

There's an old movie with Val Kilmer back in the early 90's called Thunder Heart, it's set I believe in South Dakota...

The cinematography is great in that movie.... beautiful country, heck, It's half made me think about checking it out... I fear that the winters would suck too bad....

I wonder if that would count as "plains" ... it looked a bit deserty to me.......

I've never seen the movie but I just googled it. Looks like it was filmed around the Badlands, Wounded Knee and Pine Ridge. That's in the western part of the state that's drier (not far from us). It's still plains but it's not as green as the eastern part of the state. There are some areas that seem deserty. We even have cactus (cacti?) here.

Oh, and you definitely don't want to check out Pine Ridge!
