Inspired by this thread:
Honest assessment of the dating field for single mid-20s men

I've seen threads about how "small" the dating pool is for men in their later 20s and into their 30s, yet despite this, its easy compared to back in the 1950s and well into the 1960s (albeit enhanced greatly by technology), when it was common for even men to marry early in their 20s while women still had their traditional role of finding their partner in high school and marrying shortly after graduating, especially those who just wanted to be housewives. I imagine it was frustrating for those guys to keep hearing Mrs. all the time while looking! Divorce was frowned upon, so naturally there was a lower divorce rate. Plus even back then looking for a high school-aged girl would have been too young for most of them. If anybody has memories or knows someone who experienced the mid-20th century dating scene, how difficult was it for a single man to find his soul mate back then?

Pretty sure it was easy because WWII got alot of 16-18 year old men killed.

So in 1950s and 1960s, those guys would have been 26/28 and 36/38 respectively.

Small dating pool?

Plenty of women out here for men in their late 20's and 30's.

However, as most know.....with age comes more baggage.

It's the easiest time ever to get laid or hookup with lots of different women, but that's only if the guy knows what he's doing. Lots of men have no idea what they're doing. In terms of a long term partner it depends...

In general, throughout history the best looking, most charismatic, popular guys always got the most attractive females and the most women overall. That was true in 1946, 56, 76, 86,2006 etc. If you're not getting "hot" girls in 2014(for whatever reason)you wouldn't be getting them in 1954.
