I once updated my status on FB about a year after I got married (along with other random updates to info), and it made announcements all over the place. I went behind deleting them...... I was just trying to update stuff... didn't need the announcement BS.

OMG. I almost spit out my water. That is so true! And it always wants to make everything "highlighted" and a "life event".

Oh well. My profile says I'm in a relationship with my SO. But only I can see it. If and when I'm ready, I'll turn it on to "friends only" and hopefully it won't get announced, but if it does, I'll be right there waiting and ready to delete it from the timeline.

We shall see. Something about this one makes me want to pull the trigger. The smart side of me says, "don't do it!!!"

I suggest you ask if he minds before you do and then give him a little time to think about it.

I understand where you're coming from. But he added me the minute I accepted his friend request and put it on his page (not as the life event announcement). So yeah, he doesn't care if I put him down or not.

No lie, but I've seen a few POF chicks that gave out their info and it was pretty funny (to an extent) seeing their status change every couple of days...coincidentally as their POF profile came in and out of hiding.

It was even more alarming when they disappeared only to come back about a year later--but one thing had changed:

"Do you have children? Yes"

I don't use Facebook.

But I am in a lot of my girlfriend's Instagram pictures, and she likes to get me in the picture when she snapchats her friends...
