I'm so, so sorry about your doggy, Beagle and SD. I wish I could do something, sincerely...
EDIT: Eff your goal weight, LOL.
Thanks. I am not shocked, I've dealt with it before with a different dog. Once they get old and I hear them start to cough, my heart sinks. The good news is that our 14 year old dog is doing pretty well, and his bloodwork was great. He has a chronic cough, but his heart and lungs are fine. The PITA Dutch shepherd will most likely live to 20. LOL
I would agree with you about the goal weight, but I can't let it get more out of control. I gained seven pounds in the last two months! The kicker is that my clothes still fit normally. Sheesh.
You never know, he just might make it, what do we know?...................
I know exactly why he says this though, outside of the fact the dog has a very cushy life, lots of food, lots of hugs, neighbors who give him a pig ear almost every day, a best friend dog who visits a few times a week.
My Husband's motivation outside of all I listed is that he thinks he will get to sleep in the same bed with me more then than he does now.........
I should mention that he is usually out of town working anywhere from a day to several months or more.

You're on top of it, though. You know what to do.

LOL. You can always tell about a guy, no matter how tough, if he loves doggies, he's a good guy...
