I get that men are visual creatures but online dating has made it so much worse.
I use OkCupid and every time I move to give a guy my number, eventually they all start asking for selfies. I'm fine with once or twice, but every single guy I have talked to always asks more than three times. They want picture after picture after picture. I mean, not usually dirty ones or anything.... that's not the issue. It's just the constant badgering for photos and selfies.
I work so sometimes when I get requested for one I can't send one right away. Then once I resume texting with the guy he'll be like "Hey I never got that pic". God it is so annoying to me and I can't explain why.
Recently I was talking to two guys at once from the site, just talking, seeing if we were going to set anything up etc. Texting magic was happening and both happened to ask me to take a selfie. I had no make up on so I told one ofthe guys that I'd send him a work selfie the next day. Of course I was swamped with work and forgot. That night I received a text that accused me if catfishing him. The other guy was also persistent with, "Hey, you never sent me that selfie" and when I told him I couldn't take one at the moment he said "Well send me an old one or the last one you took" Grr so effing annoying.
I'm just so tired of taking photo after photo. I have PLENTY on my profile. Jesus. YOU KNOW WHAT I LOOK LIKE. From every angle and setting.

Tell them this then move on if they insist on more.
I just don't tolerate that kind of behavior but I don't
use dating sites either and never have.

Make it a little fun. You can draw a little Santa hat on your small tiny selfie friend.

I've never asked a girl for a selfie. Hell, i usually skip over the profiles that are 100% selfies. Usually if i'm chatting with them, their pictures on their profile were enough for me.
Every woman i've met has looked exactly like her profile pics. No surprises....yet. I do have an OKC date tonight though

Hahaha...
If I asked for a picture, it was usually once and harmless. However if I wasn't interested in dating a woman or cared if I offended her, I may ask for more pics. I wasn't usually a pic guy, but may ask once prior to meeting a girl off the internet. Sometimes text convo's would get a bit heavier and they'd end up sending more, or sending nudes. One girl I met at the bar the night before I didn't remember, I just asked for a pic and she sent me a full on nude one. She was smoking hot with an amazing body and perfect fake breasts. Couldn't believe it. We hung out quite a bit after that.
But either 1. the guys are just plain stupid. or 2. They don't really care about offending you or dating you, may just want to sleep with you, so they will keep asking for pics hoping you send a nude or something..

The worst scenario is who is asking some one who has no profile pic at all. I ignore them right away. People who ask email, whats app,selfies, I go to the block button and just forget it. I understand exactly how you feel. That is the reason I left those sites for god sake. What I don't understand also what you mention there are enough photos on profile even though connected to instagram some times. Ah still. But there is something like this there are woman more than enough who is on dating sites just for fun with downloaded photos. That is also a reason that men ask for a recent selfies. But still if they don't have no trust there is no bond.

I ask for more pictures from girls when I see their picture and they look good but also look like they could possibly be uglier or fatter than they are in those pictures.
I usually ask for more pictures or their facebook for assurance.
