A saying I heard one time.

We recently just inherited a rabbit. A whole long story behind it, but the shorter version is that Mrs. Chow's Dad's GF one day bought a rabbit. Now this woman is in her 70's and Mrs. Chow's dad was 89 at the time.

She gets the rabbit as an impulse buy and after a while she's tired of it, she wants to get rid of it... ****ing surprise on that one.. right??

Well Mrs. Chow's dad decided to keep it because he was worried about her and was fearful about her getting adopted out. So they keep her.

Cut to Mrs. Chow's dad dying just a few months ago, as we've mentioned here.

Well as time went on and his GF had to get her stuff together to move she was looking for a home for the rabbit as her living situation she couldn't keep the rabbit.

Long story short she couldn't find a home for the rabbit... as Gomer Pyle would say "surprise surprise surprise"

So she's talking about dumping the rabbit at a horse stall so Mrs. Chow said she'd take her.

So here we are... new rabbit and all.

I'm beyond furious that we have to assume this responsibility ... as far as I'm concerned, it has nothing to do with us, but we took her.... and now I'm stuck with another 8 to 10 yr commitment, the same as when my mom died and we took her cat.

Why in the F would hgis GF get the rabbit when she's a clean neat freak, she's in her seventies Mrs. Chow's dad is 89??? I mean WTF... don't people think about this shyt ahead of time.

As soon as she got the rabbit I was like...Fuq... mrs. chows dad is gonna die soon and we're gonna get stuck with it... and lo and behold... get what the F happened...... LOL.... were stuck with her......

I started my post off with don't buy green bananas when you're old.....

Don't get ****ing rabbits or any other animal when you're old.......... cause someone else is gonna get stuck with them....

Congrats on the new addition, Chow. lol

Sixy, I have a turtle, too. He's about 9 or 10 now. Projected life span is 80-100 years. lol

How old is the rabbit and what kind is it? Could you contact a school or preschool and see if they will take the rabbit? Is a cage-free bunny or do you have it caged?

We have a turtle that I inherited when I married my husband. He's 24yrs old and can live into his 80's. We are going to have to will him to someone...want him Chow?
Mrs. Chow and I have had some knock down drag out fights the last few weeks to this happening and I'm still beyond pissed off about it.....

It's an awkward place to be cause I'm so pissed off but Mrs. Chow is being a good honorable person in her concern for this animal's welfare.....

It adds a layer of guilt to my anger cause she's being a good person by taking the rabbit, in the greater scheme of life...

How can I get mad at someone for being a good honorable person and doing what is she thinks is right?????

I rarely if ever talk about our personal stuff here... it's just the rabbit has caused so much in terms of our fights and I look like the bad guy... LOL.....

I completely and utterly look the bad guy...........

Your position is completely understandable. It's difficult to assume responsibility for another living creature when it wasn't in the original plan.

But, are you mad at Mrs. Chow, or are you frustrated and mad at the situation?

On a completely unrelated note, I'm watching a show called "Your Move with Andy Stanley". I like this guy. I'd actually consider going back to church if he was the one speaking every Sunday.

LOL... I don't recall that show.... speaking of shows we watched some Nurse Jackie today and a show called "Louie" both are really good.

I'm mad at Mrs. Chow for being so honorable and trying to do what she thinks is right... LOL.....

LOL.... this whole things has just been an odd situation...... It's not like she's gone off and spent our life savings at a casino..... LOL.... those kinds of situations are easier to discern....

Dealing with someone's ethics and morals and how they deal with a given situation makes things much more tougher.... the gray area gets f ing grayer... if that makes any sense...LOL....

Anyways, there are worse problems in this world.... but damn.. sure doesn't feel like it at times.....

Hmm.........well, I don't really know. I'd say his shell is a good 7 or 8 inches long, maybe 6 wide? When you hold him, it's like holding on to a really big home made burger with super strong legs. lol

lol!

Chow can you and Mrs. Chow compromise and keep the rabbit until you find it a good home where it will be well cared for?

I had a rabbit one time when I was a kid and vowed then to never get another one and not because it was too much to care for. A much worse reason which no one really wants to know.
