I was watching a documentary one time and in it it showed a lot of parts of India and I was completely floored by the complete abject poverty.
It was shocking actually to see the disparity in how we live here and how other people live in other parts of the world.
We've got it so good we don't even know......
I know, and its sad .
I have done my part to help . In 2011 and 2013, I graciously donated $ 200 of my internship income to an ashram that helps out orphaned children suffering from extreme poverty in my hometown.
I have interacted with the ashram people to make sure that my contribution was being used to help the children obtain books to read, clothes to wear, and food to eat. I made sure that it was not looted for other purposes.
Ive met these kids twice, and its shocking that they smile and talk with such joy and hope even though they have very little. They called me a big brother. My heart was touched a bit on hearing that .
I will make a contribution (no matter how large or small) to the ashram with every paycheck I earn. And, of course make sure the money goes where its supposed to go. Putting a smile on their faces in itself is a source of joy for me .

I wonder if you're able to be brought home, like when cremated. If so, I'd do it. And l'd like to be kept in a turn of the century, blue mason jar with a glass lid.
