Listen, you had a bad day. No need to beat yourself up for it. Just let her know it was a bad day for you and you are sorry for reaching out to her. She'll probably be mad, but that's okay. She'll survive. Just don't contact her during another manic episode.

"Listen, I had a bad day and hit a serious low point that's why I reached out to you. I was desperate and I thought of you right away. I'm better now and thinking clearly and am sane which now means I'm not crazy anymore and don't want to go out with you."
Is it just me or... this is a joke? Because... the above script sounds really insulting to the girl. No need to make it sound like you only reached out to her because you were 'crazy' or even worse, 'desperate'. Just say simply that you just went through something in your life where you were needing to reach out to someone, but that you are actually okay now and are happy to know the girl and be friends. Leave it at that? Gosh, if a guy told me he had asked me out in the past because he wasn't thinking clearly or was feeling desperate... it would sound insulting.

It is very insulting.
Translated, it says, "I needed sex from ANYbody, so I thought of you. I only wanted you because I was temporarily insane. But I'm "better" now, so ... Nevermind."
Which is the truth, but you don't want HER to know that.

Yeah, I'm not saying that lol.
The gradual fade out seems to be working so I'll stick with your original idea. Thanks!
Also, update: I saw my doctor yesterday. She said that it was really strange and not necessarily indicative of bipolar symptoms (since hypomania and mania tend to last much longer than 1 day). She said that it might just be an adjustment to the medication and to just watch it for now. If it happens again, come back and we'll discuss changing the medication or taking me off completely.

Well, my post was a joke.
I really didn't think I had to explain.
Have you ever been at a comedy club and found that everyone was laughing but you?
