Do you have any workplace enemies you are forced to have a relationship with?
One of the worst types of relationships is having to be in regular interpersonal and professional contact with someone at work who we hate. I have a few workplace enemies due to the nature of my personality and work. These work place enemies are not individuals I can ignore or avoid, I am forced to interact with them almost every day. A few of them have been quite active in trying to get me fired. I know they hate me and would be so happy if I just went away, but I am sticking around until they fire me.
What tricks do you have that allow you to remain sane and civil in your personal interaction with workplace enemies, or other people you can not stand, but have to interact with?

As long as you're in the workplace or even in this world, there will always be that 'one' person or persons that don't see eye to eye with you.
I don't have any enemies (that I know of) but to answer your question, I would ask myself why I hate these people I work with and ponder on that for an answer.
My advice after that is to lighten up at work and give these people a chance. You're only making yourself miserable by dwelling on the negatives about these people. Look for the positives and you may make some new friends and it will be a joy to go to work everyday happy instead of dreading it or hoping to get fired.

I think you should try and deal with your hatred, as opposed to looking for "tricks" to remain sane and civil. What is the "nature of your personality" as you say? Why do you hate? Haters do not win many supporters in an any organization, IMHO (unless it's a "Hate Group" ).

I've had a few of those types of people but generally tried to sit down and talk to them about making our work life not so hellish. It worked most of the time. I guess when you have to deal day to day with those you don't get along with, some type of comparison needs to be generated or else your life suffers as well as those around.

I do not hate anyone at work but have a few enemies that are out to get me because of my power and influence. I have enemies after working thre a short while, just a few weeks. SAD! I work in a very political and nasty environment where there is alot of politics and infighting. I am doubtful sitting down with my work place enemies will help, it will make it worse, because they will know it has affected me. No one is going to change because I asked them to.

I don't have anybody that I truely hate, if I work with someone i don't care for I just make the best of it, there enough things to worry about without that.

Well, for a different slant on this type of problem, I recommend you google up either Loompanics Unlimited or Paladin Press. They have books avaliable on this subject that you don't find "just anywhere"!

I honestly think this is the time for some introspecting. Frankly, someone who says they are "sticking around until they fire me" probably does not have that much "power and influence". Regardless, there are politics in every organization larger than a couple people. Dealing with politics is done by having a backbone, being fair, and not letting yourself fall into a trap of negativity.
No, you should not ask any co-worker to change. The change has to come from within. IMHO you should change your outlook. Try to work on distress tolerance. Learn to be nonjudgmental of yourself and the work situations that bring about these negative thoughts. If you are open to Buddhist philosophies I suggest searching for a book called Radical Acceptance. It teaches methods that can remove these negative thoughts.

I suggest that you always remember to remain professional at all times treat those hated coworkers how you would want to be treated. I also suggest going to the libary reading up on materials like workplace ethics and other helpful material. I once took a class in college that delt with coworkers, job ethics it really helped and if all else fell just don't worry about it. It eventually will work out fot the best if you get fired hey maybe there may be a better job waiting on you and remember
