Not sure.

#1- Nice, has two older boys, same type of dog that I have. Car salesman.

#2- nice, always asks about the kids. Nice government job, owns a house, financially responsible, no kids, etc...

I can't find attraction to either. It is kind of like they are not manly enough for me. But I honestly don't know. Guy #1 kissed me and I literally ducked down, without even thinking about it.

Years back I knew a happily married couple of over 20 years where the marriage soured hard and fast over their youngest son falling into drugs during high school. They split over the issue of how to address the son's growing drug abuse problem. It was a nasty and bitter divorce.

Because they are nice and responsible. You want a jerk. You associate being nice with not being manly, and being a jerk with being manly.

Yeah - didn't we already go through this on another thread or am I thinking of a different poster. Doesn't the OP equate responsible with "boring" and jerk with "edgy and exciting?"

No I would say they are both professionals and I usually go for a blue color, works with his hands type guys.

Not exactly. I do not go for boring guys. I like a guy that has some hobbies, likes and brings a little fun to the table. Not to be confused with drama. I tend to be attracted to guys that are mechanics and such. Never dated a white color professional. I go for the guys that can turn a wrench next to me.

So why don't you go to dive bars near blue collar areas? Or look for activities that take place in those areas where you might be able to find the men you're describing.

I honestly don't why you're marginalizing these other two men because of their white collar professions. It is very superficial. But I suppose we all have our fantasies...you just seem to want to make yours a reality. I can't help but thinking of the delivery man coming to deliver his package to you, or the plumber coming over to clean your pipes. You really do fit that stereotype.

Women do not generally want to look for responsible, family oriented men in dive bars.

Maybe she just did not find chemistry with those two and more than merely their profession. It is a small sample size.

She just said she never dated a white collar guy.

Funny, at least half the white collar guys I know are good at fixing things. Cars, home repair, etc.

I think LoL just doesn't like white collar guys.

Which is fine, but she will likely find more white collar types who are open to a woman with kids than DECENT blue collar types who are open to dating a woman with kids.

My mom digs bad boys to this day. Some women get stuck on it and never fix that problem. And, it IS a problem for a woman with kids who wants to be married and settled down.

Mom did marry only white collar/professional types until my current stepdad (they've been together over 20 years), but he's from a wealthy family, so he's not typical blue collar.

Not to say there aren't some great blue collar types out there. There are.

There are just fewer single, mid-thirties blue collar guys who are both decent AND have enough disposable income to take on a woman with two kids.
