This person doesn't care if it's a good idea. He's dating someone who's 19! That trumps everything in his mind!

Im not a guy but personally I would feel weird dating someone so close to my own childs age. I have a friend tho who married a guy only 2 years younger than her son.

Its not all that uncommon for people to remarry someone younger and basically start a second family, but its not the norm.

My father's 3rd wife was only 3 years older than me. Although she was 20 years old, so no longer a teenager... it was quite disturbing.

Is the guy 2 years younger than her son or 2 years older than her son. Either way, it is bizarre, but I just wanted you to clarify this because I am curious.

It does seem kind of creepy but they're both of age so... Anyway, why would a 19 year want to date someone twice her age? That's the question to be asking

My father wanted someone who was young and vulnerable enough to be completely dependent on him, and she wanted someone to support her so she could stay home with her child. Everyone wins, I guess.

I am dating someone who is 10 years older than me, but each of us have full-time jobs. Your father could have dated someone who was 30 years old and if she works full-time, at least she can take of herself. If the 19 year old doesn't have a job and if she is not in school, she will probably take advantage of your father. Basically the 19 year old is desperately looking for someone to take care of her. If she only has one child, there will still be guys who will try to date her. She might leave once she has more options in the future.

About 2 years older. I'm not sure the exact age. Her son also has children about the same age as his little sister.
